New MOUs

Understanding the growing importance of international cooperation in science technologies, the Korea Institute of Human Resources Development in Science and Technology (KIRD) has established the groundwork to expand the boundaries for its cooperation projects.
In February, the KIRD signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Innovation Center Washington DC (KICDC) under which both institutions will jointly plan training and mentoring programs for science and technology career development and start-up and career workshops and seminars.
In particular, the KIRD will review collaborating with the KICDC to run its “KIRD R&D Real Challenge Program” to provide more on-site education in an effort to support graduate students of science and engineering to start businesses globally.

Moreover, the KIRD signed an agreement with the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) in May in Washington D.C., which helps enhance its network in the science and technology field and builds a basis for the cooperation in North America. Based on this MOU, the KIRD will plan to seek collaboration with the KSEA in career development projects for the post-doc research fellows.
As such, the KIRD has achieved a range of international cooperation in a short term with the goal of becoming a global hub for science and technology talent training and is keen to continuously increase its global footing based on its successful experiences.
