KIRD-SPRU-Ajou University signed tripartite MoU

In March, KIRD HR Research office signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding with *Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU of the UK), and **New Industry Convergence Technology R&D Center at Ajou University. All three parties agreed to build a S&T policy network to share S&T talent nurturing strategies of Korea and S&T talent nurturing policy models of Europe, and proactively cooperate together in various aspects of research and education.

The detailed activities for cooperation agreed between the parties are: ① joint research on S&T policy development, ② joint planning and operation of education programs, ③ student exchange and provision of training programs, ④ S&T policy personnel exchange, and support for their visit, and ⑤ sharing of information in education and research of S&T policy.

Starting with this tripartite MoU, KIRD plans to actively expand its global network with foreign research and education institutions.

* Established in 1966, Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) is a research center based at University of Sussex in the UK. It is the world's first think tank specializing in S&T policy and innovative management. SPRU focuses on sustainable development of science, technology, and innovative system, policy development and building of management system through multidisciplinary studies and education.

** New Industry Convergence Technology R&D Center at Ajou University was established in 2015 to facilitate convergence study of science and industrial technologies, and was selected as a lead university for science policy graduate school by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) in 2020. To "challenge for becoming a think tank for the development of S&T policies based on public/private cooperation", it plans to reorganize its structure and expand to S&T policy and convergence research center.

KIRD and National Training Academy (NTA) signed MoU to develop S&T talents.

In March, KIRD signed an a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with *National Training Academy of Egypt (NTA) for bilateral cooperation in the development of future leaders in Egypt and the Region.

By signing this MoU, both parties agreed to ①develop and support of online education contents related to S&T personnel development, ② share knowledge and experience in leadership development and HRD, ③ jointly plan and operate S&T HRD expert forums and symposium, and ④ jointly develop S&T HRD programs and cooperate in the operation of developed programs.

The conclusion of MoU holds a significant meaning in that the institution began to cooperate with a leading country of African continent. With this as an opportunity, KIRD renewed its commitment to make further efforts to spread its S&T HRD model to the world.

* National Training Academy (NTA) was founded in 2017 as an independent agency under the President of Egypt with the aim of fostering the world's best talent. NTA provides various programs for public institutions and companies, presidential leadership program for African youth, and holds World Youth Forum, National Regular Youth Conference to nurture talented individuals for the future.
