“Developing a ‘Scientist Development & Performance Framework’ and its own assessment model based on the unique characteristics of KIRD education"

KIRD established a Scientist Development & Performance Framework. The new framework is a more sophisticated assessment indicator using a higher level of standards such as Return on Investment (ROI), performance contribution, etc.
To develop the framework, KIRD validated the effectiveness of the model with regard to the activities to nurture S&T personnel. It serves as an assessment framework and a conceptual model to secure objective grounds to conduct a project. The framework is composed of 5 stages (Implementation-Activity-Calculation-Outcome-Ripple Effect), and has 16 performance items and 54 assessment indicators in 5 areas. KIRD expects that the model can be used to analyze the medium and long-term performance of education programs, proving the effect of the nation’s R&D personnel training program and contributing to making plans for development measures for the future. KIRD hopes that the accumulated data would be reflected in the planning, development, and operation of education programs to create a 'virtuous circle structure'.
